What is airbrush makeup?
It's still makeup! The main difference is in its application. Instead of using the regular brushes or sponges, it uses an airbrush gun and an air compressor (as pictured above).
How does it work?
Makeup is fed into the gun and it comes out in a fine mist, allowing for the product to be applied evenly onto the skin. This gives it a lightweight, flawless finish. It is possible to put on a whole face of makeup, from foundation all the way to eyeliner. Most makeup artists will use it just for foundation, and maybe contour and blush.
What makes it so great?
It can withstand the elements! I like to use silicon based airbrush foundation on my clients and I find that it survives tears, sweat, hugs, and more. I even had a client say that she went swimming and her whole face stayed intact!
It should be said that there is a time and place for airbrush makeup. Depending on your skin type, it may not be a suitable option for you.
